Perkembangan FDI Triwulan II-2013


Hari ini, Kamis, 24 Juli 2013, Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal (BKPM) merilis data terbaru tentang realisasi penanaman modal asing langsung (PMAL) atau foreign direct investment (FDI). Pada triwulan II-2013 PMAL naik tipis dibandingkan dengan triwulan I-2013, masing-masing 7,2 miliar dollar AS dan 7,0 miliar dollar AS. Meskipun meningkat, pertumbuhan (year on year) pada triwulan II-2013 melambat dibandingkan dengan triwulan I-2013, masing-masing 15,0 persen dan 23,1 persen. Apalagi jika dibandingkan dengan tahun 2012 yang tumbuh 26,1 persen.

Ada perkembangan yang cukup menggembirakan. PMAL di sektor sekunder (industri) meningkat dari 47,9 persen pada tahun 2012 menjadi 56,3 persen pada semester I 2013. Sebaliknya, PMAL ke sektor primer (terutama perkebunan dan pertambangan) menurun dari 24,2 persen menjadi 23,5 persen. Penurunan lebih tajam terjadi di sektor tersier (jasa), dari 27,9 persen menjadi 20,2 persen.

Subsektor industri yang paling banyak dibidik sejak 2012 ialah industri kimia dan farmasi; industri logam, mesin dan elektronik; dan industri kendaraan bermotor, dan peralatan transpor lainnya,

Data neraca pembayaran yang dipublikasikan oleh bank Indonesia menunjukkan peningkatan pesat PMAL sejak 2010, sehingga sejak itu bisa melampaui arus keluar berupa keuntungan PMAL (repatriasi laba). Namun, pada triwulan I-2013 terjadi pembalikan menjadi defisit sebesar 359 juta dollar AS. Kejadian ini tentu saja turun menambah tekanan pada nilai tukar rupiah. Apakah fenomena ini bersifat sementara? Kita tunggu publikasi neraca pembayaran yang biasanya dirilis BI pada minggu kedua Agustus.

His area of expertise and discipline covers Economics, Political Economy, and Economic Development. His prior engagement includes Economic Adviser to the President of Republic of Indonesia on economic affairs (2000); Head of the Department of Economics and Development Studies, Faculty of Economics at the University of Indonesia (1995-98); and Director of Institute for Economic and Social Research at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Indonesia (1993-1995), the Commissioner of the Supervisory Commission for Business Competition (2000-2006); Rector, Perbanas Business School (1999-2003). He was the founder of the National Mandate Party where he was served in the Party as the first Secretary General and then the Deputy Chairman responsible for research and development. He quit the Party in January 2001. He has actively been involved in several NGOs, among others is The Indonesian Movement. Faisal Basri was educated at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Indonesia where he received his BA in 1985 and graduated with an MA in economics from Vanderbilt University, USA, in 1988.
